Biography Letter 8 is a promising band from Madison, WI which focuses on writing, recording and playing their own music. After playing live shows for the last four years, members Andy LeDuc, Joshua Anderson, original bass player Cory Hansen and Noah Iskandarani released their first full length album entitled "Character Flaw" in late 2005. Character Flaw was recorded and mixed by Beau Sorenson and Mike Zirkel at SMART Studios in Madison, WI. The album was mastered by Trevor Sadler at Mastermind Productions in Milwaukee. The band was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented group of professionals on the project. As the Character Flaw sessions came to a close, a new group of songs emerged, half-finished. These new songs have been written (and re-written), and the band is in the process of recording their second album this Fall. Letter 8 was formed when Joshua Anderson (drums) and his partner in crime of 10 years, Cory Hansen (bass) set out to recruit a singer and a guitarist in an effort to replace members of an old band. Noah Iskandarani (guitar) joined, and the three started to gel. After a few practices and home-recording sessions with singer/songwriter Andy LeDuc, it became clear that the band had found the sound they were looking for. Letter 8 is an example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts, and this is evident in both the music and live performance. After four enjoyable years of the original members, Cory had other person endeavors take him out of Wisconsin and away from Letter 8. Enter Ryan Cutshall, a bass player attending school in Madison. Ryan was a big part of the second album Beauty and Bad Days and was involved with the band for about year and a half. Unfortunatley Ryan also had his career take him out of Wisconsin. Letter 8 has recently joined forces with bass player Matty Douglas who has been involved with such bands as The Woods and Logarrhythm in the Madison area. Matty remains musically involved with all of the bands and brings a fresh creative aspect to Letter 8. |
